Quilt Types
Select from one of the styles below for your t-shirt quilt. The number of t-shirts you have, and the size and shape of the logos on the shirts, may influence the type of quilt you choose.
Traditional Quilt, no sashing (all t-shirt blocks equal size)
Traditional Quilt, with sashing
Puzzle/Collage Quilt (t-shirts custom-cut based on logo size)
Sometimes there will be spaces between the t-shirt blocks which will need to be filled. Depending on the look you are trying to achieve, these gaps can be filled with:
‘Pieced’ fabric using traditional quilt patterns
Plain Fabric in a variety of colors and styles
Shipping
Once you’ve decided on a quilt size and type, you will need to ship or drop off (if local) your T-Shirts to the studio. Be sure to specify which logos you desire to be placed on the quilt (front, back, sleeve, ALL, etc.). If there is any doubt, I will reach out to you for verification.
Design
I will begin the process of cutting out the t-shirt blocks and arranging them on my design wall for your review and approval. I will send you pictures as we collaborate together until the quilt looks just as you desire.
T-shirt logos are typically arranged to create a color and pattern which is aesthetically pleasing to the eye. In the puzzle quilt pictured here, open gaps between the t-shirt blocks are filled with fabric blocks using colors which are complementary to the design.
Final Touches
Pattern, Batting, Backing & Binding
Once the T-Shirt Quilt Top is complete, you can select from the options for completing the quilt shown on my Services page. Selecting a quilting pattern, batting thickness, backing fabric, and binding.
Shipping
Once fully complete, the T-Shirt Quilt will be wrapped, boxed and shipped to the address you have specified. Shipping charges for the final quilt will be billed to the customer.
T-Shirt Quilt Pricing
Pricing varies based on size and includes everything except the batting and the backing material. The customer can provide their own batting and backing, or purchase from me (see Services page).
Traditional Quilt, no sashing: $225 (lap); $375 (twin); $525 (queen); $675 (king)
Traditional Quilt, with sashing: $300 (lap); $450 (twin); $600 (queen); $750 (king)
Puzzle/Collage Quilt: $525 (lap); $750 (twin); $975 (queen); $1,125 (king)
